On June 9th, the 9th Sichuan Agricultural Expo’s preparatory meeting was held by the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of Sichuan Agricultural Expo in Chengdu. Cai Junjun, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Nearly 70 people from the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center, agricultural (agriculture and animal husbandry) and rural bureaus of various cities and prefectures in Sichuan Province, the Management Committee of Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park, and the Sichuan International Expo Group attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Director Cai Junjun detailed the overall plan for this year's expo. The 9th SAE will be held from October 27th to 30th, 2023, at the Western China International Expo City. Chongqing will be the theme province and Bazhong will be the theme city. With a planned exhibition area of 70,000 square meters, the 9th SAE mainly for display and trades, highlighting the connection between agricultural product production and sales and the promotion of the "Tianfu Granary" agricultural brand. During the event, a series of major activities will be held, including the opening ceremony and the promotion conference for building a higher-level "Tianfu Granary", the "Belt and Road" Smart Agriculture Development Forum, and the opening ceremony of the guest country's pavilion.

The Sichuan International Expo Group introduced the exhibition layout, highlights, and preparatory work of this year's expo in detail. Compared with previous editions, this year's expo has six new features. First, it closely adheres to the theme of building a higher-level "Tianfu Granary" in the new era. Second, it fully reflects the cooperation elements of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. Third, it sets up an agricultural machinery exhibition area for the first time. Fourth, the overall scale has been further expanded. Fifth, it presents a high level of international cooperation. Sixth, it enriches the content of agricultural industry chain exhibitions.

The representatives attending the meeting put forward relevant suggestions for the preparatory work of this year's expo and expressed their willingness to actively organize local well-known enterprises and purchasers to participate in the event. They aim to hold a more content-rich, fruitful, and widely influential agricultural industry exchange event.
