This is the first export of Sichuan Tibetan suckling pig, and it is also the first export of whole pigs in Sichuan in recent years. It is expected that this year and next year, Sichuan will export 100,000 Tibetan suckling pigs to Hong Kong, which is currently the largest single frozen pork export order in China. At the launch ceremony of "Sichuan Tibetan Suckling Pig Exported to Hong Kong", the exporter Sichuan Ruiheliang Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Ruiheliang") signed a cooperation agreement with the buyer Hong Kong Pork General Chamber of Commerce. The agreement is clear that the second batch of Tibetan suckling pigs supplied to Hong Kong will reach 20,000 heads. "Since then, the export channel of Sichuan pigs has stabilized." Zeng Youjun, general manager of Sichuan Ruiheliang, said that the value of the first supply to Hong Kong for Tibetan suckling pigs was less than 500,000 yuan, but it was a big step for the export of Sichuan pigs. The export volume of livestock and poultry meat is a key indicator to measure the level of agricultural development in a region. Sichuan slaughters 60 million pigs all year round, making it the largest province in the country and accounting for 5% of the world's total. As a unique pig breed in our country and a rare highland grazing pig breed, Tibetan fragrant pig was selected as the "seed player" for Sichuan pig export. Hong Kong, which consumes 1.5 million high-end suckling pigs every year, is an important export destination for Sichuan pigs. In July last year, at the invitation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Hong Kong Food Council organized more than 10 Hong Kong enterprises to visit Sichuan to explore the possibility of establishing supply and marketing relations. A month later, the Hong Kong Pork General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong's largest pork supplier, joined hands with Sichuan Ruiheliang, which had previously participated in the supply of Sichuan cuisine to Hong Kong, and reached a cooperation intention to supply 100,000 Tibetan suckling pigs from 2025 to 2026. The two sides agreed to select goods in Heishui County, the origin of the national geographical indication protected product "Sewan Tibetan Fragrant Pig", and achieve the first batch of 1,000 supplies in the first quarter of this year. Hong Kong has one of the strictest meat quality standards in the world, with more than 80 quality indicators alone. In order to ensure the smooth shipment of the first batch of suckling pigs, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Chengdu Customs, Heishui County Party Committee and County Government jointly established a special class for the export of Tibetan suckling pigs in Sichuan Province. Since September last year, the special class has guided Sichuan Ruiheliang to complete the export filing of breeding bases and slaughterhouses. Since then, in the breeding and breeding of suckling pigs, the special class will cooperate with third-party institutions to monitor the ecological environment, feeding, epidemic prevention, slaughtering and packaging of the export record base. On February 17 this year, the first batch of suckling pig samples for Hong Kong successfully passed the quality inspection of Hong Kong. Subsequently, the relevant products completed the export process such as customs declaration procedures. "The supply of Sichuan pigs to Hong Kong is an opportunity for Sichuan pigs to adapt to international standards, and provides a reference for the upgrading of the industry."
